Weddings in January. Oh wait, January weddings in Wisconsin...What can I say? The light is amazing! The setting, Badger Farms, so beautiful. A sunset reveal and a romantic walk around the grounds followed by the most beautiful evening wedding and reception. Who could ask for more as a photographer...or a gorgeous couple on their wedding day? Especially when the temperature was 50 degrees? Love it!

I am starting to get ready for all the bridal fairs coming up and wanted to talk a little bit about the specials I am running this month. I usually have a pretty big one during the month of January since that is when I get most of my bookings and I want everyone to get as many professional prints as possible. I also love when my clients order wedding albums which can be a bit extravagant and pricey but also priceless.

This January I will be offering a $300 gift card with all bookings and you can use that card to order prints from me, put it towards your album or as many couples like to do, get their high resolution digital files right away. I personally recommend waiting for those because you get them for free on your one year anniversary anyway so take advantage of my special and get those prints! I retouch everything you order and make it look like a piece of art.

I also want to add a little incentive to come down to the Bridal Fair...if you book with me there at the show, I will double the amount on your gift card. Yes, I'm talking about $600! Every once in a while I get the amazing opportunity to not only photograph the newborn in the hospital but also a few days later in their home. This is the easiest way for mom and dad as well as getting that key moment when baby sleeps the whole time and we can pose him/her in the cutest positions. Here are a couple of photos from my last session of little Elliot Raymond. The first section is at St. Mary's here in Madison and in a more photo-journalistic approach. The second section is a few days later at home.

Beautuful Bohne Twins

A couple of weeks ago I had the incredible opportunity to visit the home of Chad and Eileen (whose wedding I photographed just two short years ago) and to photograph their two newborn sons James and Joseph. The two boys were born Friday, July 1st 2011 at 3:24 and 3:25pm. James weighed 7 lbs 7 oz and was 19 inches long and Joseph weighed 6 lbs 0 oz and was 18 1/2 inches long.

They were a little over two weeks old when I came over. Both were sleeping so I was able to set up a little area in the kitchen and brought in one boy at a time. James was first and then Joseph. Wow, what a challenge! When one woke up, the other was asleep. This did give me the opportunity to take my time with each boy individually. The hard part was getting them together. I think that, in the end, I did get a few beautiful shots and I wanted to share...

Saturday was a blast!

We had so much fun planning, setting up and talking with all the engaged couples for our open house/engagement party last Saturday night. I got to work with some amazing people and try some delicious food. Not only did we get to listen to Randal Harrison play his violin all night but we also got to eat cake! Tanya from the Rolling Pin Bake Shop, brought a large sheet cake of strawberry shortcake and a three-tier in an amazing design that perfectly matched our decor. Oh Yum.

The flowers and design of the studio were all brought together by Marie from ACT II Floral Studio, Laura Ursin from Brides on a Budget and Carissa Mangerson from SMD. It was so beautiful. BR Diamond Suite, Silverback Productions and the Great Dane all had gorgeous displays out as well. Wow, everything was just amazing!

Our family Christmas Card 2010

How does a photographer find an awesome way to show her family in a Christmas card? Inspiration comes in daily doses with a 1-year old. Wesley's first Christmas tree was something he always wanted to look at (obviously). One day, I caught him looking at this bulb and yelled for my husband Mikey. "Hey! I've got an idea for our Christmas Card! Big smile! Hahahah"

Fantastic Weekend at Christmas Mountain

My husband, Michael, and I spent the weekend at the Christmas Mountain Village in Wisconsin Dells. It was a beautiful day yesterday and the weather couldn't have been better. The first thing we did was look at the wedding display at the local restaurant! Hahaha. Oh well, can't always just relax. Especially when our work is such a part of our lives. Thanks Mom and Dad for the special weekend and for watching our little boy for us!
